Novice Actionscripter, Please help :p

Postby bowersbros » Fri Feb 05, 2010 8:31 pm

Hey, Im fairly novice at actionscript, however i would like to know how to create a Flash Player which has various features:

1: Memory (Remembers where abouts in the movie the viewer got up to, Probiably done by AJAX and Cookies)
2: Resizing video area (To be able to resize a video (between two preset sizes, possibly two video sizes uploaded)
3: Subtitles button (if subtitle file uploaded, shows subtitles)
4: Volume control
5: Full Screen Control

Thanks :)

If you look like your passport picture, you probably need the trip.

What would you consider small?
Just a basic video player with volume and stuff? :)

even that isn't the easiest thing to do  although i'm sure then are some tutorials.

I think a video player with full screen would be pretty OK, volume could be added, and once you start to get better the other things could be added.

Your first stop for ActionScript tutorials should always be GoToAndLearn

I've worked with video before, but not with controlling the playback. From what I remember it's not that hard to change volume, remember at what time the video is and other video controls. Keep in mind though that Flash (not the player, I'm talking Adobe Flash CS4 here) actually comes with a video player built in. You'd have to find out how to use it in combination with ActionScript though.
